形態特徵

  • Large Evergreen trees; bark grayish brown, somewhat rough; branchlets angular when dry, with short grayish-brown hairs.
  • Leaves alternate, thickly chartaceous, broadly obovate, obovate, oblanceo-late to oblong, 12-18 cm long, 4-6 cm broad, acute at apex, cuneate at base, glabrous above, glaucous and hairy beneath, slightly revolute, lateral veins 10 pairs, veinlets prominently reticulate; petioles 1.3 cm long, pubescent.
  • Inflorescences panicles, axillary, 10-15 cm long, pubescent; flowers 4 mm across; tepals 6, equal, obtuse, ovoid, 1.7 mm long, 1.2 mm broad, villous on both surfaces; fertile stamens 9, 1st and 2nd whorles of stamens eglandular, slightly villous, anthers 4-celled, introrse, 3rd whorl with 2 stalked glands, anthers 4-celled, extrorse, 4th whorl staminodes, sagittate.
  • Fruit ellipsoid, 1 cm long, blackish-violet at maturity; tepals persistent, clasping base of Fruit.

分布

  • 台灣 : in broad-leaved forests in lowlands from 100 to 2,000 m throughout the island.
  • 世界 : Anhwei, China.
